Committees
SHOT would not be what it is today without our hard-working committees. They organise big concerts, activities, and concert trips, they make sure we always get to play the most beautiful music, they take care of promotion of the association and a lot more! Keep reading to get to know all of our committees.
Activities Committee
The activities committee (AcCo) organizes as many fun activities as possible for SHOT every year. Think for example of the annual barbecue, the Batavierenrace and the activities during the rehearsal weekends. These activities are always a great success, provide extra contact between members and are of course a lot of fun. Mail the committee: acco@shot.utwente.nl.
Concert Trip Committee
The concert trip committee (BuCo) is responsible for organizing the concert trip that SHOT takes once every two years. The last trip was in July 2024 and went to Austria and Poland. It was an amazing time! Other recent concert trips went to London, China, Budapest and more. Mail the committee: buco@shot.utwente.nl.
Concert Committee
The concert committee (CoCo) is already very busy with organizing a big concert in March 2025! It will be a film music concert, performed in the Muziekcentrum in Enschede. Mark your calendars! Mail the committee: coco@shot.utwente.nl.
Audit Committee
The audit committee (KasCo) provides an audit of the accounts and financial advice to the treasurer. The BuCo's finances are also audited by this committee. At each GMA, the audit committee reports on the accounts for the past six months. Mail the committee: audit@shot.utwente.nl.
Lustrum Committee
The lustrum committee (LuCo) is responsible for SHOT's lustrum year, which will be in 2026. SHOT will celebrate her 35th birthday on April 1st (not a joke!). The committee is busy arranging all kinds of fun concerts and activities for this special year. Mail the committee: lustrum@shot.utwente.nl.
Music Committee
The music committee (MuCo) selects music pieces that SHOT will play in the coming season. The MuCo works together with the conductor and the music commissioner, who makes sure that the music is ordered and copied. Mail the committee: muco@shot.utwente.nl.
Print Committee
The print committee (PriCoh) was created to support the music commissioner. When a lot of new music needs to be printed, scanned and/or archived, this committee steps in. Mail the committee: pricoh@shot.utwente.nl.
Promotion Committee
The promotion committee (ProCo) supports the general member of the board in promoting SHOT's various activities, such as concerts and the concert trip. Furthermore, among other things, the committee is active in actively recruiting members during university and college introductory periods. Mail the committee: promotion@shot.utwente.nl.
Ensemble Committee
The ensemble committee (SaCo) organizes an ensemble evening every few months, often in preparation of a concert. During these evenings, a lot of different small ensembles consisting of SHOT members form to perform a small piece. This raises the musical level of SHOT, but also the bond between her members! These evenings are always filled with music and 'gezelligheid'. Mail the committee: saco@shot.utwente.nl.
SHOTnews Committee
The SHOTnews committee (SHOTNieuwsCo) ensures that SHOTnews is published several times a year. This is SHOT's association magazine, containing useful information and fun pieces about SHOT, SHOT members and past activities. The members of this committee take care of editing, layout and distribution to members and patrons. Mail the committee: shotnews@shot.utwente.nl.
Language Committee
The language committee (TaCo) helps the board with translating pieces from Dutch to English or vice versa. This can range from financial pieces to newsletters. Mail the committee: languagecommittee@shot.utwente.nl.
ToHuWaBoHu Committee
The ToHuWaBoHu committee (ToHuWaBoHuCo) is responsible for the ins and outs of the ToHuWaBoHu party band. They arrange performances and take care of rehearsals. More information about ToHuWaBoHu can be found elsewhere on this site. Mail the committee: dweilorkest@shot.utwente.nl.
Soccer Commissioners
The soccer commissioners (voetbalcommissarissen) are responsible for ensuring SHOT's participation in the annual interorchestral soccer tournament. We will definitely win next year! Mail the committee: voetbalcommissarissen@shot.utwente.nl.
Website Committee
The Website Committee (WebCo) takes care of keeping up and expanding the website. If something on the website breaks, they first panic and then fix it. They are currently very busy with building this new website for SHOT! Mail the committee: webco@shot.utwente.nl.
