About SHOT

The Studenten Harmonie Orkest Twente is the wind orchestra of the University of Twente in Enschede. The orchestra, better known as SHOT, consists of about 65 students from the university and surrounding colleges. The repertoire of the orchestra changes several times a year. The orchestra is conducted by Ronny Buurink.

Every year, SHOT organizes two concerts at the university campus. In preparation for these concerts, the orchestra traditionally retreats to a small village, to rehearse for almost 20 hours on the pieces. During these rehearsal weekends the ambiance is amazing. In addition to these concerts SHOT regularly gives performances in other cities or participates in festivals. Besides performances in the Netherlands, SHOT also visits a foreign festival every two years during a concert tour.
